It's spring and now is the best time to promote your business. So, here's an idea for everyone to round up some business. Choose your favorite social media site and start a contest. When starting a contest, make sure you have a set of rules, a timeline and a prize that will get people into your business.

Do these things, and you'll be sure to get your name out there!

What's new this week

Hey guys. I just wanted to let everyone know that there is a new show out on MTV called "The Diary of Facebook." It offers a lot of great information about the company and some of the really awesome things Facebook does and can do. In the last episode the engineer desinged a hands free app because he said while he was driving to work he saw way too many people texting and driving/checking their facebook. All you have to do is open the app, say "Facebook news feed" and the app will start reading it to you so you don't have to take your eyes off the road.

If you have a smartphone, I highly suggest you check into this app. Keep everyone safe! Also, check out the show to learn more!

Hello everyone! I can pretty much guarantee that every one of you has heard something about Facebook or Twiiter in the last year. It's pretty difficult to find a business or let alone individual that doesn't have a facebook or twitter account. "Why?" You might ask, social media can be used to stay in contact with people around the world, ie; family, friends, business partners, without having to rack up a huge phone bill or postage bill because they are free. Another social media concept you may not have heard of is Skype. Skype is a video chat site that you download to your computer, you use a webcam and can chat for free to people anywhere in the world. This has saved companies THOUSANDS of dollars. Many business's use Skype to have meetings instead of sending people all over the country to meet with people, they can just sit right in their own offices and have the meetings, yet still be face to face.
