Hello everyone! I can pretty much guarantee that every one of you has heard something about Facebook or Twiiter in the last year. It's pretty difficult to find a business or let alone individual that doesn't have a facebook or twitter account. "Why?" You might ask, social media can be used to stay in contact with people around the world, ie; family, friends, business partners, without having to rack up a huge phone bill or postage bill because they are free. Another social media concept you may not have heard of is Skype. Skype is a video chat site that you download to your computer, you use a webcam and can chat for free to people anywhere in the world. This has saved companies THOUSANDS of dollars. Many business's use Skype to have meetings instead of sending people all over the country to meet with people, they can just sit right in their own offices and have the meetings, yet still be face to face.

I agree Jess that it's hard to find a business that doesn't have a Facebook or Twitter account. They are wonderful and free ways to get publicly recognized by your peers! It is a great resource when starting a small business and you have a limited advertising budget!
ReplyDeleteI think Skype is great! I use it all the time to keep in touch with family/friends! We also use Skype at work when we are doing live remotes, it is so handy!
ReplyDeleteWe use Facebook at Buena Vista and this is a great way to advertise for FREE! It's also fun to use and keep people connected!
